Sri Lanka Tourism Board has hosted several teams of travel bloggers, influencers and journalists from UK, Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, India, USA, and Sri Lanka through the Visiting Journalist and Travel Blogger Programs conducted to promote Sri Lanka as one of the safest and scenic travel destinations.

Visiting media and travel bloggers followed a travel plan designed by SLTPB, taking separate routes to explore "What is truly So Sri Lanka" from the southern coastal-line to Jaffna in the North. Travel programs focused on Sri Lankas natural beauty rich wildlife, golden beaches, authentic mouth-watering food, cultural values, colonial architectural marvels and ancient historical monuments.

With this destination promotion, unexplored areas including Badulla, Bandarawela in Uva Province, Ambilipitiya, Udawalawe, Kilinochchi and Jaffna had received immense exposure as a highly potential new destination.

In addition to expanding tourism in rural economies, these initiatives will support and spread tourism around the country. The visiting influencers and media were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Bureau Chairman Kishu Gomes midst the networking event at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. PR Director Madubhani Perera, PR Assistant Director Chaminda Munasinghe, Events Director Prasad Daluwatta and other members of the SLTPBs PR team attended the event.

Local hospitality partners included Mount Lavinia Hotel, Jetwing Travels and Jaffna hospitality industry partners including Tilko Hotels and Tours Malayan. Cafe and local communities in the Kilinochchi area supported the SLTB PR Team in organizing these media promotional programs.
