Dhiraagu and Sparkhub Announce the Successful Closure of Lean Startup Maldives 2024 - Addu Edition!

Addu Edition, marking the first time the event was held in Addu City. The programme, which was held from 19 to 21 July 2024, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 50 individuals, eager to learn and embrace lean principles to foster innovation and entrepreneurial growth in the Maldives.

Lean Startup Maldives 2024 - Addu Edition was an immersive startup bootcamp which provided comprehensive, hands-on training in lean methodologies and hands-on applications for product, customer, and business model development. The programme is designed to equip aspiring young entrepreneurs and innovators with the essential knowledge, tools, and mindset needed to drive entrepreneurship and innovation.

At the bootcamp, participants were immersed in the world of lean methodologies, gaining insights into how these principles can be applied to their processes and startups. The programme provided a unique platform for attendees to explore their ideas through customer validation and experiments. Working in teams, participants had the opportunity to test and refine their ideas through various experimentation techniques. Additionally, it emphasised the significance of effective customer communication to ensure products and services are designed with the end-users in mind.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Fathmath Neesha, Chief Development Officer of Sparkhub stated, “We are thrilled by the overwhelming response and growth during the Lean Startup Maldives Workshop. Hosting this programme in Addu City demonstrates our commitment to fostering a vibrant startup culture across the Maldives and supporting the growth of thriving startups nationwide.”

Participants of the Lean Startup Maldives Workshop highlighted how the experience broadened their understanding of rapid innovation, customer validation, and a customer-centric approach to product design. They appreciated the emphasis on iterative development, effective communication, and using cutting-edge tools to streamline the path from idea to product.

The bootcamp concluded with participants gaining valuable insights into the entrepreneurial journey, applying lean principles, utilising the Javelin experiment board, best practices for customer interviews, solution validation, and engaging in expert-led sessions and interactive exercises.

Dhiraagu and Sparkhub have been closely collaborating to help build entrepreneurial skills and foster the local startup culture in the Maldives.
