The 2024 Resort League South Malé Zone commenced with great enthusiasm at CROSSROADS Maldives on August 1, 2024. The reigning champions of the South Malé Zone, CROSSROADS Maldives, faced off against the inter-destination Hard Rock Hotel Maldives team in the opening match.
CROSSROADS Maldives, the runner-up of the 2023 Resort Super League tournament and the reigning champions of the South Malé Zone, showcased their prowess once again. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, they secured victories in both matches in Group A, ensuring their qualification for the quarter-finals set to be played on the 10 of August.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Resort League South Malé Zone was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Debhakam Chayanin, a distinguished member of Singha Estate PCL's Board of Directors. Dr. Chayanin holds several key positions, including Director from the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development Committee, and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The Resort League South Male Zone features twelve teams divided into four groups, competing in the Maldives' premier futsal championship. The tournament serves as a crucial platform for resorts across the Maldives to compete and showcase their athletic talents. This year’s tournament promises to be highly competitive, with champions from different zones vying for the coveted title in the Resort Super League tournament. CROSSROADS Maldives, having been the runner-up in the last season, is determined to claim the championship this year.
