Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives has announced that the company has recorded a net profit of MVR 125 million in the second quarter of 2018.

According to the company statistics, Ooredoo earned a revenue of MVR 490.8 million in the second quarter, which is an increase of 18 percent compared to the same period last year.

However, Ooredoo revealed that the income generated from it's roaming services were low as the second quarter coincided with the tourist off-season, and thus there was a slight drop in profit compared to the first quarter.

The companys Annual General Meeting ("AGM")  was held recently on at Hotel Jen in which 89 shareholders took part in with 66 shareholders being present in person and another 23 shareholders being present by proxy.
