Manta Air has revealed a new addition to its seaplane fleet of Twin Otters.

The new addition, a De Havilland DHC6 Twin Otter delivered from Canada, departed the country on the early morning of August 29 and landed safely at Velana International Airport yesterday afternoon.

According to Aviators Maldives, the seaplane had been in operation for over 19 years in Nigeria before its acquisition by Rocky Mountain Aircraft in February 2020. The aircraft is already equipped an avionics package with all calendar maintenance completed.

However, further modifications such as removal of wheels and the installation of floats for its official seaplane operations will be performed at Manta Air’s base at Dhaalu Airport.

The airline’s fleet now reaches total 9 seaplanes with this newest addition.
