Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) organized an event to support the Maldives Autism Association as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was held on April 26 as per the ongoing activities of the World Autism Awareness Month which includes an airport tour and a fundraising program.
Altogether, 14 students and 3 teachers took part at the airport tour at Velana International Airport. The children were excited to see how the ramp operations and flight handling were done at the Ramp area. They also visited our Airport Emergency Services station which the students were given the opportunity to explore and interact with the fire and rescue team along with the fire vehicles. They were also allowed to wear fire and rescue uniforms and get inside the airport fire vehicles. The tour concluded with a small function held at an Airport Recreation Center, where students were given special gifts from MACL.
In addition to the airport tour, earlier in the month a fundraising program was also conducted, where the Maldives Autism Association was given the opportunity to sell their merchandise at airport facilities. The program was a great success, with MACL raising funds to support the association in their efforts to raise awareness about autism in the Maldives.
MACL's CSR programs are designed to support vulnerable communities in the Maldives, and the company is committed to continuing its efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. By standing in solidarity with the Maldives Autism Association, MACL hopes to raise awareness about autism and help to create a more inclusive and understanding society.
