On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, to be a global pandemic. Since then, the outbreak has evolved rapidly with governments around the world taking swift action to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Airbnb announces partnership with International Rescue Committee, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and International Medical Corps to connect 100,000 healthcare providers, relief workers, and first responders with clean, convenient places to stay that allow them to be close to their patients and safely distanced from their own families.

To help battle the coronavirus, Airbnb informs that they are working with businesses, nonprofits, and governments in some of the most impacted countries to ensure that help reaches COVID-19 responders who need housing support.

Under the companys extenuating circumstances policy to help protect the community and provide peace of mind, reservations for stays and Airbnb Experiences made on or before March 14, 2020, with a check-in date between March 14, 2020 and April 14, 2020, are covered by the policy and may be canceled before check-in. Guests who cancel will receive a full refund, and hosts can cancel without charge or impact to their Super-host status.

Furthermore, the opportunity is open for those interested to help by hosting or donating to provide a safe and convenient place to stay for COVID-19 responders working with Airbnbs partner organizations. The place can be offered for free, but if not so, all Airbnb fees will be waivered.
