Ministry of Tourism provides public with the chance to comment on three new tourism policies for amendments

Ministry of Tourism has opened the chance for the public to comment on the government's newly released 3 policies regarding the tourism industry. The opinions will be taken into account to make amendments to these three policies.

The regulations released by the government are:

  • Regulation Number R-19/201: Collection of Information for the tourism database (statistics).
  • Regulation Number R-43/2015: Safety measures to be taken against fire accidents in tourist resorts.
  • Regulation Number R-11/2011: Holding of symbolic tourist wedding ceremonies 

All views of the public can be shared to the ministry before 1400 hrs of  23rd January 2020.

The government is working to formulate a new tourism master-plan in a bid to promote sustainable development in Maldives' main economic sector.
