Manta Air has confirmed to continue its flights for the
local community with its Seaplane service, effective from 01 April 2020 to both
Dhaalu and Baa Atoll.
With continued requests from the local community for the
Manta service, continuation of daily flights have been decided to maintain regular
domestic transfer connectivity in these atolls and also for emergency flights.
Given the drastic decline in travel resulting from the
COVID-19 pandemic and foreseeable financial impact, today, the airline has made
a difficult yet pragmatic business decision to temporarily suspend all fixed
scheduled ATR services to Dhaalu Airport and Dharavandhoo Airport from 01 April
2020 until the current situation in the Maldives improves.
All customers who wish to travel with Manta during this
period may book tickets via Manta Airs official website www.mantaair.mv/book or through its
reservations team. The domestic carrier will continue to support the on-demand
charter flight requirements for both ATR and twin-otters should there be a
specific requirement from its partners at any time during this period.
The customers are strongly advised to travel only when
necessary, avoid any unwanted travel and to follow health regulatory guidelines
accordingly.
Manta Air has previously announced immediate temporary route
suspension of GKK on 16 March, in addition to scaling down its operations and
schedule changes in light of the rapidly growing global COVID 19 pandemic.
