SLAAR Concludes its 25th Annual General Meeting

The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR) has recently concluded its 25th Annual General Meeting held at the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.


The Chief Guest at the AGM was The former Managing Director of Aitken Spence Aviation Ltd. and a former Treasurer and Deputy Chairman of the Association, Keethi Jayaweera who traced the 25-year history of SLAAR from its conception to today and noted the vital issues it championed over the years for the benefit of the Industry and the GSA companies. 


Hayleys Leisure Holdings Ltd. Director/CEO Aviation Gerard Victoria took over the role of the Associations Chairman from Hemas Air Services Director Dushy Jayaweera, who had completed an eventful two-year term as Chairperson, at the AGM. 


The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives was formed on the 22 June 1993 with the primary goal of providing the Off-line Airlines with an opportunity to voice their difficulties and to seek common solutions as well as to discuss matters pertaining to their day to day operations. Subsequently, SLAAR opened its membership to On-line Airline GSAs and GSAs representing Cargo separately.


SLAAR has since earned itself a reputation for being a vibrant association that safeguards the interests of the members as well as the interest of the Travel Industry.
