MACL Starts Career Expo for Secondary School Students

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has started series of career expo sessions for Secondary School students and the first session of this initiative was held yesterday at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The expo aims to provide important information for students who desire career opportunities in the aviation sector. During the expo, students were briefed on what subjects in grade school will help them pursue aviation sector careers.

Additionally, students were informed on various functions of MACL as an airport operating company and the operations of Velana International Airport. This includes the operations and functions of Terminal Services, Passenger Services, Commercial, Ramp, Airport Emergency Services and Air Traffic Control.

38 students from Thaajuddeen School and Billabong High International School participated in the career expo held today. MACL intends to expand this expo to additional schools.

Maldives Airports Company is the operator of Velana International Airport and has been massively involved in destination marketing and bringing in new airlines to the Maldives to boost up the tourism industry. MACL has embarked on one of the biggest projects in the history of Maldives in developing the future Velana International Airport such as the development of a brand-new international passenger terminal, a new code F runway, a new cargo terminal complex and a new fuel farm along with hydrant system and major infrastructure developments at Velana internationals Airport.
