Maldivian Airlines, the national carrier of the Maldives, has successfully launched its inaugural flights from Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, marking a major milestone in its expansion into the Chinese market. These new direct routes strengthen connectivity between the Maldives and China, one of the country’s largest tourism source markets.

To celebrate the occasion, Maldivian honored its first three check-in passengers from both Beijing and Chengdu with return tickets, exclusive holiday packages sponsored by Cora Cora Maldives and Hideaway Beach Resort, and A330 aircraft models. The airline expressed gratitude to all passengers and partners for making these moments truly memorable.

The launch of these new routes reinforces the Maldives’ position as a premier travel destination for Chinese tourists, offering seamless access to the island paradise. As part of the inaugural celebrations, Maldivian introduced special promotional fares, including an attractive return ticket price of USD 788 for the Malé-Beijing route, along with a generous 40 kg baggage allowance.

China remains a key focus in Maldivian’s long-term strategy, given its significant contribution to Maldives tourism. With the introduction of direct flights from three major Chinese cities, Maldivian aims to further strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism ties between the two nations, making travel to the Maldives more convenient than ever.
