Flymes Brand New ATR 72-600 will be arriving today - 7TH November 2019

Flyme, owned and operated by Villa Air Pvt Ltd of Villa Group of companies is delighted to announce that a brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft will join its fleet today, 7th November 2019. The new aircraft will have a capacity of 72 seats with a seat pitch of 20 inches and a customer friendly interior. This will be youngest turboprop aircraft under a Maldivian registration with the highest seat capacity. 

Flyme has operated ATR aircraft since it began its operation in October 2011. In the past 8 years Flyme has taken delivery of three brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft and was the first company ever to bring a brand new ATR aircraft to the Maldives. 

Abdulla Nasheed, Managing Director of Villa Air stated "the new aircraft will be deployed for commercial operation soon. Adding new aircraft t the fleet and expanding the rout network is part of Flyme's intended expansion programme. ATR, known for its economical and operational efficiency and with the already experienced professional workforce and facilities, this is an ideal acquisition to spread our wings within the archipelago and beyond. Flyme will be commencing commercial operations to Ifuru Airport soon and Maafaru Airport once the airport is open for commercial operations" 

More aircraft will be joining the fleet in the coming years with more routes to follow. Flyme will add 4 twin otters to begin its long-awaited seaplane operation, once the new seaplane terminal at Velana International Airportt is completed. Each seaplane livery will be representing an indigenous fish found in the Maldives marine environment.
