Scandinavian Airlines Introduce Sustainable Comfort Kit in Business Class

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has taken one step further on the way towards a sustainable journey by introducing a new sustainable SAS Comfort Kit. The SAS Comfort Kit will be available for SAS Business Class travellers on board long-haul flights between Scandinavia and USA or Asia from mid-December.


"Collaborating with suppliers focusing on Scandinavian sustainable design and sustainable travel is of the utmost priority for SAS. We work with everything from aircraft that are more fuel efficient, partnerships to develop biofuel, choice of lighter weight cabin fittings, to biodegradable packaging plus choice of partners that pursue such developments," says Karl Sandlund, Executive Vice President Commercial.


"We are proud to offer something extra and unique to our modern travellers, who, like SAS, value high quality, local design and sustainable products. Several of the products have been developed especially for SAS to match our ambitious targets. The products celebrate materials, function, design and consideration in the widest sense."


Each SAS Comfort Kit contains:


Wash-bag and eye mask: Filippa K, heading towards entirely sustainable production by 2030. Modern and stylish wash-bag in three colours, petrol, nude and black. Discreet but total blackout eye mask in black.


Dental care: Humble Co, toothbrush with cornstarch handle and natural fresh mint flavour toothpaste.




Socks: Swedish Stockings, made from recycled material and using environment-friendly dyes. Soft and warm socks in graphite grey.


Skin cream and lip balm: Verso Skincare, a pioneer challenging industry conventions. The products are made with as few ingredients as possible to reduce environmental impact. Slightly scented and gentle skin lotion made exclusively to match the air quality and environment on board and a refreshing lip balm with a hint of mint.


Earplugs: Swedsafe, uses a highly developed quality control system to reduce emissions. Discreet colour and perfect fit.


The SAS Comfort Kits are a continuation of SAS long tradition of working with innovative Scandinavian designers. It consists of five products from prominent and forward-thinking Scandinavian brands. Not only are they the perfect combination of products to help ensure a pleasant trip, but they also share the values of supporting and promoting a sustainable lifestyle.


Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) offers the most departures and has an attractive offering for people who travel frequently to, from and within Scandinavia. SAS conducted 817 flights daily in 2016/2017, and a total of around 30 million passengers travelled on SASs 272 routes between 123 destinations in Europe, the US and Asia.
