Today, Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Service Corps has showcased the first prototype of a fully functional emergency ventilator. This occasion is a landmark for MNDF in the fight against COVID-19, says Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.
The ventilator was created by an MNDF technical team, Signal and demonstrated for the Officials of MNDF with Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi in attendance. The Minister ensures that the ventilator works and applauds the effort of MNDF in their determination to help the community in this crisis.
Most recently, MNDF in collaboration with MTCC and other agencies has completed a quarantine facility in Gulheefalhu with a bed capacity of 665. This will enhance the capacity to quarantine high risk people and control the community spread of COVID-19.
