SAUDIA Commences Weekly Flights to Maldives

SAUDIA, the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has commenced weekly flight operations to the Maldives starting May 20, 2021.  

The airline will be operating four weekly flights to the island nation, informed Velana International Airport. Saudi Arabia has recently lifted the travel suspension of Saudi citizens to travel abroad, open for fully vaccinated individuals, those who have recovered from COVID-19 over the last 6 months and citizens under 18 years of age. They are also required to present a PCR test certificate produced from an approved screening center of the country prior to travel.  

Returnees to Saudi Arabia are to stay home-quarantined for 7 days and take a PCR test after the duration is over.

Maldives holds close bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia and has received financial and work support from the middle western country on various occasions.
