Famous Thai Photographer to exhibit pictures of Maldives at Siam Paragon, Bangkok

A celebrated photographer from Thailand, Chi Wai David Lau, has arrived in the Maldives to capture the beauty and culture of the country. During his stay in the Maldives, he will be hosted by Kuramathi Island Resort, Season Paradise and Jumeirah Vittaveli. He will experience the Maldivian hospitality while capturing the natural beauty and culture of Maldives through his lens. The pictures taken during his stay will be unveiled in Siam Paragon, a popular mall located in the heart of Bangkok.

David, whose interest in photography began at the young age of 8 generally, takes pictures that showcase the unique cultural aspects of the countries he visit. His recent works displayed in Bangkok include photo exhibitions which displays pictures from his trips to Sichuan, Tibet, Indonesia, Russia and most recently, Kenya and Morocco.

He has received the Associateship of Photography from Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand. His recent works which has been published displays the photos from his visit to Russia and Sichuan in China.

This trip is one of the many familiarization trips that MMPRC has conducted this year, with the focus of bringing more exposure to Maldives as the ideal tourist destination globally.

MMPRC aims to promote Maldives Tourism in Thailand and increase arrivals. A total of 17,697 tourists have visited Maldives from Thailand by the end of July 2019. A total of 32,436 visitors from Thailand visited Maldives in the year 2018, which is an increase of 24.6% from the previous year.
