Harvest Fresh Farms Honoured with the Title of Leading Guest Houses and Tourist Inns in South India at SATA 2018

Harvest Fresh Farms, an organic fruit farm and farmstay nestled in the serene Cumbum Valley, India was honoured with the title of "Leading Guest Houses and Tourist Inns in South India" at the 2018 South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) held in Mumbai, India.


Set in the heart of the serene Cumbum Valley, Harvest Fresh Farms is flanked by mountains that kiss the clouds with streams gushing down its slopes and lush farmlands. A short 15Kms drive down the windward side of Kumily, Thekkady, Kerala, the farm is strategically located at Lower Camp, in communion with pristine nature yet close to small towns and the famous Periyar Tiger Reserve. 




Harvest Fresh farms grows pomegranates as it chief harvest along with papaya, grape, coconut, tender coconut, sapota, mango and an apiary that produces the finest honey. The farm is also home to cows, geese, turkey, flying ducks and a flock of hens. A well laid out vegetable garden and an herbal garden ensures that there is fresh produce at all times in the kitchens. 


Accommodation is simple and comfortable with scenic views of the valley. Delicious traditional and local cuisine is served. Guests are invited to join in activities like harvesting in the fruit garden and tending to the animals. The farm provides a great opportunity for guests to learn about organic farming and with this hands on experience. As the sun sets, guests can relax, watch the stars, or simply read in quite luxury.




South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) was launched in 2016 by Maldives based event management company Highrise. Since then  SATA has been the most prestigious award for travel and tourism stakeholders in the South Asia region. The brand is the first of its kind with affiliations from regional associations ensuring the process to be done within a smooth and having a transparent procedure. 


A record 500 plus nominations from the Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal were received for the 36 categories in 10 segments included in this years edition of SATA.




Evaluation Process of SATA 2018 was carried out in Maldives capital Male, Sri Lankan capital Colombo, south Indian City of Bangalore, Indian capital New Delhi, Nepalese capital Kathmandu, and the Bhutanese town of Paro by an all-women jury, which comprises Amal Goonetilleke from Sri Lanka, Rinku Madan from India and Hinna Khalid from Maldives.


The regional recognition brand , SATA is currently endorsed by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry in Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Colombo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC), Confederation of Accredited Tour Operators (India), Association of Travel Agents (ATA) Maldives, Association of Travel & Tour Operators India ( ATTOI), Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT, India), Kerala Hotel General Managers Club (KHGMC), Nepal Tourism Board ( NTB), Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), India Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Hotel & Restaurant Association of Bhutan (HRAB).
