Olive Ridley Project to Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day with Awareness Webinar on 17 June

Olive Ridley Project announces to host a webinar on 17 June with Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology and Environment Protection Agency Maldives in celebration of World Sea Turtle Day 2021. 

During the online event, everything about sea turtles will be talked about including ways to protect these some vulnerable and some endangered species. The live will start 17:00 Maldives time, and will be joined by the speakers; Dr. Abdulla Naseer, Ilham Altho Mohamed, Enas Mohamed Riyaz, and the Olive Ridley Project team of locals.  

The webinar will highlight best practices for encountering turtles, how to rescue entangled turtles, what to do when you see a nesting turtle or hatchlings, and the international and local protections for turtles in the country. Furthermore, Olive Ridley Project team will share research methods and what they have discovered so far about the turtles and their habitats in the Maldives.
