MACL Concludes the Internship Program for Individuals with Disabilities

MACL has concluded the three-month internship program designed for the students of Care Society with diverse disabilities.  

This strategic initiative undertaken by MACL, aimed to provide invaluable work exposure to four students of Care Society, offering them an opportunity to learn within the dynamic environment of Velana International Airport. The program was conducted from 1st May 2023 to 31st July 2023 and is a collaborative effort by MACL and Care Society.  

For this momentous achievement, a special certificate awarding ceremony was held today at Velana International Airport where MACL’s CEO & Managing Director, Mahjoob Shujau handed over the certificates of completion to the interns.  This ceremony was joined by the senior management of MACL and representatives from the Care Society.

Over the course of this three-month internship program, the interns were given a special allowance .  At work they were meticulously rotated through various pivotal sections of MACL within daily administrative work, customer service engagement and staff support. Under the guidance of dedicated supervisors, the interns embraced the challenges and gained valuable work experience.  

Addressing the audience during the ceremony, MACL General Manager of Corporate Communications stated that, “the program is alignment with the MACL’s CSR initiative, illustrating the company’s commitment to sustainable support for the vulnerable community. This exceptional opportunity not only help to gain work experience but also boost their confidence.”

The internship program for individuals with disabilities is a part of MACL's ongoing commitment to contribute to the welfare of the community and sustainable development within the country. By extending a helping hand to those in need, MACL strengthens its role as a vital contributor to the community, while also championing all-encompassing ethos of inclusivity and accessibility.
