JW Marriot Maldives Resort & Spa located on the island of Vagaru in Shaviyani atoll is set to open on November 1, 2019.

The first JW Marriot hotel in Maldives will have 60 spacious villas with a minimum of 234sqm, all with private pools under the management of General Manager Marc Gussing. The dining is located at the center of the resort consisting of five restaurants, showcasing impressive culinary treats in the Maldives with chefs from some of the worlds top restaurants including Nobu.

Situated at the north of Male, JW Marriot Maldives Resort & Spa can be reached by a 55-minute seaplane flight. The resort places a strong emphasis on privacy, therefore private decks and pools are provided which cannot be seen from outside the villas and in-villa dining will be included on the offers for couples and families looking to enjoy their meals in private.

Each villa is designed to look like an inverted Dhoni boat, the traditional fishing boat of the Maldives. There are four villa categories to choose from, the Duplex Beach Pool Villas featuring two bedrooms, an upstairs lounge and direct access to the beach making them ideal for families. Next the Duplex Overwater Pool Villas will provide unforgettable views of the Laccadive Sea and private plunge pool. One-bedroom Beach Pool Villas with direct beach access and Overwater Pool Villas with a choice of sunset or sunrise view will also be available.

The resort offers one of the most impressive culinary services in the Maldives with three fully-serviced bars with 98 different types of rum, an expansive wine cellar with over 300 labels and a chefs garden which is an exceptional offering for a private island with only 60 villas, in addition to the five restaurants to be dined at.

Visitors will be welcome to feast on a wide range of cuisines at the five restaurants, including Thai dishes at treetop restaurant, Japanese Teppanyaki, poolside Woodfired pizzas, local Maldivian dishes and seafood in a fine-dining, overwater setting. There will also be 24-hour in-villa dining service and destination dining experiences. Additionally, the meals will be complemented with a choice of sake, Japanese whisky, rum cocktails, smoked cocktails, and both new and old-world wines.

Marriott's brands already present in the Maldives include The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, W Maldives, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, and The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort.
