dTECh has launched Torqeedo engines to the Maldives during the Maldives Marine Expo 2019 which was held from 23 25th October 2019 in Male.
Although the drive
systems have only recently been launched in Maldives, Torqeedo has introduced
90,000 electric propulsion systems to the world spanning over 5 continents.
With this
introduction the interest for the Torqeedo product had escalated and dTECh's anticipation to develop the demand in the market is rather high. Not to mention
the growing awareness on renewable
energy and the protection of very vulnerable environment.
Torqeedo is the market leader for electric mobility on the water.
Founded in 2005 in Starnberg, the company develops and manufactures electric
and hybrid drives from 0.5 to 100 kW for commercial applications and
recreational use. Torqeedo products are characterized by an uncompromising
high-tech focus, maximum efficiency and complete system integration. Torqeedo
is part of the DEUTZ Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of
innovative drive systems.
The objective is simple, to offer a cleaner more sustainable
alternative to fossil fuels. Reducing pollution for the benefit of Maldives but
at the same time removing the need for people to purchase fuel, and maintain
expensive servicing of equipment.
Torqeedo engines are used from Dinghies and kayak to small
commercial vessels and yachts. Torqeedo offers outboards and inboards electric
motors and hybrid drive systems ranging from 1 to 320 hp. There are also all
sorts of functional and innovative accessories such as a very cool smartphone
application, range extending generators, and solar integration. Designed for
people that enjoy being out on the water with whisper quiet engines and no
smelly fuel.
