FitsAir has announced to commence scheduled air services to the Maldives starting October 10, 2022. Passenger flights will be operated between Colombo – Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Velana International Airport.

The airline will serve 3 weekly flights with its Airbus A320 aircraft on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

During the pandemic, in April 2020, FitsAir operated cargo flights to the Maldives to deliver goods.

FitsAir began operations in 1997 with a leased cargo aircraft flying from Sri Lanka to the Maldives Islands. Since commencing operations in 1997, FitsAir has been a trusted leader in Sri Lankan aviation. FitsAir is the first privately operated Sri Lankan Airline to be licensed for international cargo operations by the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and currently the largest privately operated airline in the country.

In addition to domestic and international flight operations, FitsAir also manages a portfolio of ancillary business lines across South Asia and the Middle East. These include cargo network management, ground handling and engineering services.
