A delegation of 100 German tour operators arrived in the Maldives for an event organized by Adaaran Resorts and FTI Group in collaboration with Qatar Airways. The FTI Group is one of the largest tour operators in Germany and the fourth largest tour operator in Europe. Their ground operator in the Maldives is Diethelm Travels who is actively engaged with Adaaran Resorts to make this event a success.

This is the first time that such a massive event has been organized in the Maldives. This initiative was taken up by Adaaran Resorts together with FTI Group to promote tourism in the Maldives and foster better relations with German tour operators. Adaaran Resorts ensure that additional promotional events are set to follow.

The main purpose of this event is to promote Maldives as a tourist destination via German tour operators among potential German tourists. "This is the first time an event on such a huge scale is being held in the Maldives and will prove to be essential in increasing the number of tourist arrivals in the Maldives as Germany is one of the main contributors" explained Mr. Aditya Raj Singh, Adaaran Group Sales & Marketing Manager.

Mr. Suresh Dissanayake, Assistant Vice President - Sales & Marketing at Adaaran Resorts stated that tourism in the Maldives has evolved and opened up to tourists from all works of life and need to be promoted as such. This event is a step in this direction as it will help to show the team of tour operators what the resorts offer in terms of products and services.

The delegation is expected to visit various resorts in the Maldives, from 12th to 19th September 2019. The delegates will begin their trip from Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi and end their FAM activities at Heritance Aarah.

Mr. Suresh further explained, "The team of tour operators will get to enjoy the full resort experience as they will be engaging in various water sports activities and other such activities offered to guests at the resorts. Excursions to nearby local islands will also be arranged so that the team can explore the local culture and island life".

The event will kick-off with an opening ceremony held at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi tonight. A number of senior officials are scheduled to participate in the opening ceremony.
