Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) is set to open the integrated guesthouse island of Baresdhoo for investment.

MITDC invites interested investors to attend Hotel Jen on 13th September 2017, from 13:00 hrs to 1700 hrs to clarify more information with regard to investment opportunities and other details of the Baresdhoo project.

Laamu integrated Guest House Project aims to responsibly diversify the tourism products of the Maldives by catering to the middle market segment and improve the socio-economic development of the region by targeting local SMEs in the tourism industry

Hahdhunmathi Baresdhoo is a 72.5 hectares large island in Laamu atoll and only a 40 minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Kahdhoo and a 5 minute boat ride away to reach Baresdhoo.

Upon opening, Baresdhoo will become a unique holiday destination in the region. Baresdhoo will be host to a diverse range of hospitality services ranging from resorts to beach hotels. The island will be home to a commercial district, which will house shops that can cater to tourists.

Furthermore the island will also include leisure and entertainment districts that include golf courses, spas, water sports centers, dive centers, arcade, agriculture zone, cinema and much more.

"Our goal with L.Baresdhoo is to diversify the tourism product of Maldives and create an environment that can facilitate achievement of this goal by empowering local entrepreneurs and businesses to take part in the project." reveals MITDC in an announcement

MMPRC has earlier built the islands harbour and joined a small nearby island to Baresdhoo. A local company has also been contracted to build the road network of the island.

"We have already completed the construction of the port harbour in the neighbouring Mahakanfushi Island as well as the causeway that connects Baresdhoo to Mahakanfushi. We will have more to announce at the Baresdhoo Launch Event in May." added MITDC
