Ali Shakir has been promoted to the role of General Manager at OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO, effective as of February 1, 2024. This promotion marks a significant milestone for Ali Shakir and showcases the growing trend of local talent assuming leadership roles within the company.

Ali Shakir skillfully managed the resort’s renovation and relaunch, emerging as the sole leader on-site. He is set to spearhead various aspects of resort operations, from guest services and intricate food and beverage management to crafting extraordinary tropical experiences for global travelers.

On his new appointment, Ali Shakir commented: “My journey with Atmosphere Core has been truly remarkable, and I am excited about this new role. Working closely with HR and L&D, I will lead the charge in developing and implementing growth strategies for our team. Ali Shakir assumed the role of Resort Manager at Varu by Atmosphere in 2019, subsequently contributing to the successful pre–opening of four properties, including OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi, OBLU SELECT Lobigili, OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI, and VARU By Atmosphere.

With over 27 years of invaluable experience in the hospitality industry, Ali Shakir, before joining Atmosphere Core, held roles at esteemed resorts. He completed the General Managers Program at Cornell University, USA, and holds a General Hotel Service certification from the Institution of Hostel and Catering Service, Maldives. Notably, he was honored with the prestigious Maldives CX Leader of the Year 2018 award by the Customer Experience Foundation Maldives.

On December 21, 2023, OBLU NATURE Helengeli by Sentido reopened with a refreshed, vibrant appearance aimed at captivating the senses.
