Musician’s Union of Maldives (M.U.M) has agreed to partner with the Maldives Bodyboarding Association (MBBA) for the Maldives Pro 2022 – IBC Bodyboarding world Tour event.

Hosted at Varunulaa Raalhugandu in Malé City, the event is set to run from the 29th of July till the 7th of August 2022. The event will feature performances from local musicians every night at the event venue and is part of the year-long celebrations for the Maldives Tourism Golden Jubilee.

Brands interested in performing at the event are invited to register through the M.U.M website (www.musiciansunion.mv).

Over 100 athletes are expected to compete in the prestigious event – with both local and renowned international athletes competing alongside each other. The 2022 IBC World Bodyboarding Tour officially got underway at the Lurin Pro in Peru earlier in the year. In addition to Peru and Maldives, tour events are set to take place in Chile, Brazil, Hawaii, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, Portugal, France and Spain.

Founded in 2013, the Maldives Bodyboarding Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a platform for all bodyboarders in the Maldives. With a mission to safeguard iconic waves and livelihood of the local water sports community in Maldives, MBBA organizes and sanctions professional events, implements new regulatory measures between existing associations, classes, and disciplines of bodyboarding, while providing support and services for all bodyboarders in the country.

The International Bodyboarding Corporation (IBC) is a nonprofit organization that represents and promotes bodyboarding across the world at all levels from grassroots development through to professional world tour events.
