Maldives signs Sponsorship Agreement with RC Celta

The Maldives has signed a sponsorship and collaboration agreement with RC Celta to promote Maldives for the next three years on 4th November 2019. With the purpose of building a successful relationship between both parties, the signing of the agreement took place at A Sedes Salon Regio and some high profile figures including the President of the Vigo club, Carlos Mouriño, the Vice-President, Pedro Posada, the Minister of Tourism of the islands, Ali Waheed, his counterpart for youth and sports, Ashad Ali, and the President of the Maldives Football Association, Bassam Adeel Jaleel attended the ceremony.

Maldives will be promoted in the first teams home and the slogan Maldives… the sunny side of life will be introduced on the training jersey sleeves of the team in addition to their official bus, practice kits and in various areas in the Abanca Balaidos stadium and training camps. Moreover, Celta Vigo will be collaborating with the Maldives in the promotion and improvement of young Maldivian football players soon to take the position of national team players in this island nation.

The Sky Blue Club will be giving a helping hand in improving the training of young Maldivian players and the club coaches will be visiting to share their experiences and provide guidance.

RC Celta President Carlos Mouriño said while showing his enthusiasm regarding the agreement,  "It is an honor and an enormous satisfaction for us, RC Celta, that we have been chosen to promote the beauties of their islands." 

This is the first time for the Maldives to be promoted in such a manner. Currently ranked at the 18th position in the Relegation Zone of the Spanish league, Celta De Vigo is a Spanish professional football club based in Vigo, Galicia, currently playing in La Liga.
