Kihaa has announced the appointment of its new Executive Sous Chef, Waruna Karunaratne.
As a skilled culinary professional, Waruna is recognized for his comprehensive knowledge of international cuisine and his innovative approach to setting the stage for a personalized dining experience. With over 17 years of experience in fine dining at resorts and restaurants of the highest level, Waruna’s time in his career has been spent refining the art of cooking, developing impressive menus and preparing culinary dishes influenced by culturally diverse regions around the globe.
Particularly adept in the ability to cultivate partnerships with service providers from the freshest and highest quality ingredients, Kihaa’s new Executive Sous Chef is committed to serving patrons on especially memorable dining experiences.
“My expertise comes from the classroom as well as the kitchen,” says Waruna. He holds a Culinary Arts degree from Lanka International hotel school, in addition to certifications in international cookery, pastry and bakery.
He expresses excitement to share his experience and ideas in his new position at the beautiful island of Kihaa.
