The Ritz-Carlton brand has designated Dan Drebing as the Director of Food & Beverage at its Maldivian property, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands.

Hailing in from Germany, Dan has nearly 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specialising in food and beverage. He began his new role with Ritz-Carlton Maldives on 15th April, 2020.

Before joining The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Dan was the Director of Food & Beverage at W Maldives, where he oversaw all food and beverage activities of the resort including private events, while leading 43 talents in providing both outstanding and memorable experiences to valued guests.

Dan is not new to the Ritz-Carlton brand, and prior to joining W Maldives, he grew with Ritz-Carlton for 10 years. Coming a long way since 2017 when he started as a F&B Server for The Ritz-Carlton Abama, where he then got promoted to supervisor following the opportunity to take up his first managerial role. Rising through the ranks since then, Dan held numerous roles within the food and beverage department for other Ritz-Carlton properties including The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt, The Ritz-Carlton Perth, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal, The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua and The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi.

General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands Mark Hehir said: "I'm very pleased to have Dan join our Ladies & Gentlemen, a former "Blue Blood" Gentleman bringing a strong Marriott knowledge, Maldives experience in his previous role at W Maldives, built from his earlier days of great experience in The Ritz-Carlton around the world."

Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2020, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is made up of 4 islands with 100 island and overwater villas, plus 5 food & beverage options distributed among the islands. On top of the all-day dining option, guests can enjoy Italian, Chinese and Japanese teppanyaki specialties.

Uniquely design facilities include an experiential Kids Club, Recreation Club and Spa. Guests will have the unique opportunity to live in a purpose-built village campus, with quality accommodation, with its own beach, entertainment and resort lifestyle facilities, which includes a dedicated learning centre. The Fari Islands is 50 mins away from Velana International Airport by speedboat and 10 mins via seaplane.
