Managing Director of Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed emphasizes the importance of adapting to technology and changes in trends of the travel industry, at the annual TTM Summit, 2019. His speech highlighted the importance of adaptation by reflecting on how the tourism industry of Maldives has constantly evolved over the past 4 decades to create the high-end destination that it is known for today. He reflected on the analytics of the travel industry around the globe and highlighted the importance of creating experiences for tourists outside the traditional itineraries.

His speech gave insight into the functions of MMPRC as the government body mandated with promoting Maldives as the most preferred tourist destination in the world. In executing this role, he remarked, that MMPRC is representing Maldivian properties under one umbrella in 21 major cities, at 36 exhibitions and roadshows across the globe.

For the first time in the history of our organization we have also partnered with a major global airline to promote Maldives as a holiday destination: Singapore Airlines, one of the most reputed airlines in the world he said, adding to a number of other activities including seminars, events, and digital media activities currently under progress. He concluded his talk reminding of the positive image Maldives holds for its visitors and the importance of maintaining it.

TTM Summit is an annual business to business event organized by the Orca Media group that connects the local travel trade community to their global counterparts. The theme of this years summit is Travel Technology & Analytics. The summit concluded on 13 June 2019. TTM estimates over 300 hoteliers, suppliers and industry professionals visiting the summit this year.
