China Southern Maldives 3Q19 service changes

Established in 1988, China Southern Airlines is the largest airline in China and has hubs in Guangzhou and Beijing. The carrier operates an extensive domestic network within China, as well as international services to the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Australia. China Southern has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since 2007. China Southern Cargo is the cargo subsidiary of China Southern Airlines. The cargo subsidiary joined the SkyTeam Cargo alliance in November 2010.


According to routesonline, China Southern plans to continue nonstop Guangzhou Male service in the 3rd quarter of 2019, currently scheduled from 19JUL19 to 19AUG19. Airbus A330 aircraft will operate this route twice a week. This route is in addition to 3 weekly Guangzhou Colombo Male route.


Villa Travels is the appointed PSA in Maldives for China Southern Airlines. Arrivals to the Maldives grew by 15% in the first quarter of 2019, with a well held up tourism demand. Additional flights and an array of newly opened accommodation facilities stimulated the influx of tourists. China continues to top the ranking of tourist arrivals to the Maldives with 76,568 tourists in the first quarter of 2019.
