Sri Lankan Airlines Introduces Maldives-Tokyo direct flights

On Thursday, Sri Lankan Airlines Introduced a direct service between Maldives and Japan.

The Sri Lankan airline carrier will schedule a total of four flights per week between Maldives Velana International Airport (VIA) and Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan.

Sri Lankan Airline is the first and only airline operating in Maldives to provide direct flights between the two countries.

The launching of direct service will lead to escalate the tourist arrivals from Japan to Maldives and vice-versa. Japan is the ninth highest contributor to the tourism market in the Island nation.

Holidaymakers from Japan are anticipated to further increase the economic value of tourism in the Maldives as it is the biggest revenue generating industry in the country.
