Transport Minister Nahula has announced that the International Airport of N. Maafaru will be opened on September.

Answering Questions from the members of parliament, the Minister mentions there had been issues at times which slowed down the process. However, with a changed government, the work had been started over with an increasing pace for the completion of the airport.

The Minister further expresses, although the whole process is mostly completed as there are some little details that need to checked off

Maafaru Airport is being constructed with the funded money of USD60 million by Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and will have the capability for worlds biggest of flights such as, Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 to land on the airport.
