Photo Exhibition to showcase Maldives coral reef beauty and threats

Maldives' award-winning photographer Mohamed Azmeel (Double Dot) in partnership with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Jumeirah Vittaveli and National Centre for the Arts is hosting a photography exhibition titled the white fire at the National Art Gallery, Malé from 20 24 October 2019.
 
The one-of-a-kind exhibition will showcase the stunning beauty, yet the vulnerable and fragile ecosystems from around the Maldives, as well as the resilience of the creatures that live in them.
 
Conceptualized by humans taking the form of different types of corals, the ten photographs of the art pieces at the exhibition will be showcased at Jumeirah Vittaveli from 20 December 2019 to 10 January 2020.

Azmeel said Nothing is art if it does not come from nature. "The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the ecological and social value the coral reef ecosystem, and to be proactive in its sustainable management.
 
The event is also supported by the Maldives Marine Research Centre and by environment champion, Abdul Azeez Abdul Hakeem (N.D. Azeez), former Director of Conservation for Banyan Tree and Angsana Maldives and one of the Directors of Ihuru Investments Pvt Ltd.
 
The exhibition will kick-off with the official opening for special invitees on on the evening of Sunday, 20 October and will be open for public from 21 to 24 October from 10am to 10pm. The exhibition invites visitors to immerse into the marine world in a lightful and delicate experience.
